Eeny, meeny, miny, moe

An annual topic that has to be discussed before leaving for the summer holiday (we’re off tomorrow) is which handbag to take with me. The easiest way to make this decision would be putting all the bags on a row and do the eeny, meeny, miny, moe rhyme thing like children do so often in games. As I’m an adult with bag-issues this matter is far more complicated than that to me.

Get lucky

Do you know that feeling: going on a spending spree when you’ve actually spent too much money already but you still want to buy more no matter what? Most of the time it’s to find something “missing”; most of the time something that you cannot buy; something like happiness, joy and other lucky feelings. (I mean true luck, not that “I-won-the-lottery-feeling” that shopaholics experience at every purchase and that, unfortunately, disappears as fast as it comes.)

Anyhow it happened to me last weekend. Yet there was something different about my latest shopping trip. Not only did I feel lucky when I found these "super sale" leather (!) ear studs, the sense of instant hippieness I blogged about last week popped up too. Must be the flower power that does the trick, don't you think?

P.S. Apart from ear jewellery I captured two woven belts that will definitely add the final touch to many outfits. 

Striped sales

It’s “the sales” (has been going on for three weeks now) and so far I’ve found myself some nice stuff. Apart from the comfortable Earthkeepers these striped beauties earned their, let’s say, stripes too and this just by being “striped”.

Did I already mention the purchase of a white/red marinière blouse and a Petit Bateau ocean blue/white striped (what else) sweater?

P.S. Oh god. Did I cross a line here with this line-obsessed behaviour?

Instant hippieness

Summer (I know, I can’t emphasize enough that it’s sunny weather season!!!) is synonym for festivals in Belgium. Somehow the start of all the festiv(al)ities fills me with a sense of instant “hippieness”. This outfit – whether it’s the flower-power tunic or the bootcut jeans combined with the espadrille-wedges – fits this mood perfectly. Looking at the picture I realize that a pair of bell-bottom trousers would match the flower power spirit even better.

P.S. The idea of an impromptu road trip (unfortunately we don’t have a cool VW-van to hit the road with) contributes to the feeling of love and peace too.

Casual Thursday

A (Thurs)day off ... That calls for casual gear. 

The prepping works

Summer is finally in town. This means there’s no more need to get ready for it. Still the “prepping" continues and it’s time to take it to the next level, by getting all set for the annual summer holiday. 

Something blue

Something old, something ... owned. That's basically all there is to say about this outfit.

Okay, maybe one more thing: the sweater is a “my vintage” item (hence something old) that I bought about seven years ago. I wore it a lot the first two years and then I just let it “hang” in my wardrobe. Lately I've rediscovered this blue beauty. I think it’s the "turquoiseness" that makes me like it so much as well as the knitting, which reminds me of Indians somehow.

The navy backpack and heart-shaped medallion add up nicely to the sweater's blue, don’t you think? Yet one thing’s missing here: nice blue shoes. Well, now I really know what to look for this discount season.

Do you know Where the Wild Roses Grow, the duet by Kylie Minogue & Nick Cave? They might be singing about this Barbour white-with-red-roses-bag as it’s clearly one of the places where wild roses do grow.
