Ceci n’est pas une bague. Okay this is a ring, but also the present Le Boyfriend got me for my B-day. Actually there’s more to this piece of hand jewellery than that. Let me explain and travel back in time, to March 2012.

Beach girls

Last Sunday (against all expectations it was a true Sunday) we went to the seaside. Due to the bad and cold weather in the morning I was doomed to dress for winter. Luckily the weather made a U-turn and little Miss Sunshine did a good job shining all afternoon. A great job actually: we could even sit on the beach without being cold and shivering.

Yet wearing a bathing suit like these two (home decoration Sia) beach girls (the one on the left was a birthday present) would have been a little bit over the top.

Okay, I have to admit: celebrating my birthday wasn’t too bad. This partly thanks to the coffee the new Kenwood kMix coffee maker provided me with. (My parents got me this hero for my birthday.)

Parties in the air

We grow old, there’s no way denying it. Especially in a week like this, when there’s one more candle to be lit on the B-day cake. Even though I’m not really in the mood to celebrate my birthday I couldn’t but throw a party (or two or three …) since le Boyfriend has to celebrate something (i.e. his birthday) too.

Fashion weeks are over at Elle Basi. Scrolling through the past few weeks’ blogroll you see a lot of outfits but that’s about to change. Of course 

I will get back to my looks soon. It’s just that I’ve other things

Tomato soup

Getting dressed is like making tomato soup. At least when putting on this orange "draped" shirt and using my red backpack. Basically it comes down to this: where you add some carrots to the tomatoes (even though in this outfit it’s the other way around) to make the “liquid dish” more tasteful, the red backpack spices up the orange blouse.

From winter (X-mas pralines & heart-shaped Valentine chocolates) and spring (Easter eggs and bunnies – chocolate ones, of course) to summer (I’m thinking – and licking my lips by doing so – Guylian’s Sea Shells) and autumn (fall-inspired chocolates like leaves and mushrooms and just before it’s winter again St. Nicholas with ditto shaped chocolate men): being a chocoholic, I can (and do) eat chocolate all year long.

As a matter of fact it makes my world go round. I do not only eat chocolate; I “wear” it too. It’s kind of a lifestyle, you know. One that reflects the adoration – some might say obsession – of the “brownies” (as in chocolicious sweets).

Need I say more when showing you this picture?

She's got the power

Elle loves flower power and every time she buys herself “flowoured” (i.e. coloured and flowered) items she thinks to herself Jackpot. 

Especially since, most of the time, it’s about clothes of the Danish brand Jackpot.

Some of you may remember me writing about “flowoured” Jackpot-branded scarves. 

Still last week (on a shopping/spending spree) I found myself a mid-season-sale bargain over there. No wonder the piece of clothing (= tunic in the picture) was covered with flowers. Besides flower power it has “rolls” too, which probably declares why the top has got the (flower) power.
